Tools

  • Stainless Steel Cocktail Shaker
  • Boston Shaker Tin: Fundamental part of the shaker set and can also be used for stirring larger amounts of cocktails.
  • Pint/mixing Glass: For both stirring and shaking, tempered glass is best
  • Stirring Spoon: A long, twisted stem and 1/8oz. spoon bowl is preferred.
  • Hawthorn Strainer: Functions with the Boston shaker tin.
  • Julep Strainer: Functions with the pint/mixing glass.
  • Tea strainer: Multi-functional, useful as a second stage of straining to remove fine ice chips as well as other particles when pouring a cocktail. Good for straining pulp out of freshly squeezed juices.
  • Ice Bucket
  • Ice Scoop or Tongs
  • Muddler: Unlaquered and unpainted wood is the best, with a smooth muddling surface, not jagged.

  • Lewis Bag: Canvas bag, used for crushing ice
  • Wooden Mallet: Use for crushing ice
  • Atomizer: Useful in topping cocktails or rinsing glass with spirits. Dedicate one misto per spirit.
  • Soda Siphon
  • Balloons/Cardboard Milk Cartons: Useful as molds for making ice balls or ice blocks
  • Micro-plane Grater
  • Dashing Bottles: Finer control when using very small amounts of liquor (ie. absinthe, bitters, amaros)
