"Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon gives a powerful, multi-faceted nose of warm cassis, blackberry preserves, hung meat and violets over damp earth, black olives, black truffles and slightly burnt toast. Rich, full bodied and layered in the mouth, it has a great backbone of medium-high, balanced acid and medium-firm finely grained tannins. The finish is very long. A knock-out year for this benchmark Margaret River Cabernet! Enjoy it now through 2023+." 95+rp
The property has over the years proved itself as one of the finest producers in Margaret River. The Mugford’s make a very, very good Chardonnay but it’s the Cabernet Sauvignon that is most outstanding in the best vintages. 2008 was a cracker of a Cabernet vintage for Moss Wood.
